1965 Mr. Olympia
The 1965 Mr. Olympia bodybuilding competition was the first ever held after its creation by Joe Weider. Mr. Olympia was established to allow the Mr. Universe winners to compete against each other and take it to a higher level, as well as allowing the bodybuilders to earn more money. The competition was won by Larry Scott who won a cash prize of $1000.〔Harold Poole, the runner-up, remains the youngest-ever competitor to have participated in the Olympia to this day, at the age of just 21.
